Danny O’Dea is from a small town just on the outskirts of the Blue Ridge Mountains, where the Earth itself is at its oldest. He studied literature and politics before working in education and communications. He has long been fascinated by folklore and the common symbols in humanity and is the author of The Last Man in Cleveland, his first novel. He currently resides in Charlottesville, Virginia, with his lovely girlfriend and their bizarre golden retriever known as the Junebug.
What got you into writing?
"I've always been fascinated by stories, and I learned early on that telling stories was the best way to process how I was feeling at the time. It really was as simple as that.
Long story short, I suppose, I was fortunate enough to be surrounded by a community who supported me and helped me grow after I fell in love with the process of writing as well."
